After witnessing a forgettable outing on the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni delivered in the first Qualifier. During the match against Delhi Capitals, MS Dhoni came into bat when CSK was in trouble as they were requiring 23 runs to win in 11 deliveries. Notably, the CSK skipper, who hasn’t done much with the bat this season, decided to come out to bat ahead of the in-form Ravindra Jadeja.
While many fans and experts weren’t happy with the strategy at that time, Dhoni justified the decision by taking the team over the line. CSK skipper played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 18 in just six deliveries as CSK crossed the line with two deliveries to spare. Fans at the Dubai International Stadium erupted with ecstasy as Dhoni unleashed his vintage avatar.

Among many cheering the ‘ageless’ MS Dhoni was his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva. The duo celebrated Chennai’s thrilling win from the stands in Dubai. After Dhoni smashed Tom Curran for the winning boundary, Sakshi was seen hugging her daughter. The video went viral in no time as fans were left overwhelmed.

Speaking of how the game unfolded, CSK asked DC to bat after winning the toss in Dubai. While some veterans like Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer got out on single digits, opener Prithvi Shaw smashed a quick-fire 60. While skipper Rishabh Pant also smashed a half-century, Shimron Hetmyer contributed with 37 runs. Riding on their brilliance, DC posted a challenging total of 172/5.

Chasing the target, CSK got off to a terrible start with opener Faf du Plessis getting out for a duck. However, in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad joined forces with Robin Uthappa and they managed to add 110 runs for the second wicket. However, the fall of quick wickets meant DC is back in the hunt. They even looked all set to cross the line.
