India captain Virat Kohli on Saturday said that pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s experience and accuracy is going to be priceless for the team prior to the T20 World Cup. Team India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against their arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 as well.

“His (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) economy rate continued to be top-notch in the IPL, he has always known for this, and his experience comes to the fore,” said Virat Kohli during captain’s call organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) before the Men’s T20 World Cup. “I think his experience and accuracy have always been priceless for the team. He is back to full fitness which augers really well for our team. I am sure he will get assistance with the new ball.”
While talking about India’s performance in the last 2 T20 World Cups, Virat Kohli said: “It was quite frustrating to go out the way we did in the 2016 t20 World Cup. But West Indies was the best team in the tournament, playing the best cricket as a team and I felt they thoroughly deserve to win that tournament. We had a heartbreak against Sri Lanka in the 2014 t20 World Cup finals as well, that tells us as far as our T20 cricket is concerned, we have always had a strong side.”

Meanwhile, former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly stated that there’s no lack of talent in the Indian team but they will have to show the much-needed maturity to win the title.

Recently, he was speaking after Games24x7, a multi-game platform that has launched a new campaign — titled ‘Game Ke Deewane’ for the upcoming marquee event – ICC T20 World Cup, on its fantasy sports platform, ‘My11Circle’ where he shared his views on this.

“So, you don’t become champions easily and you just don’t become champions just by stepping into a tournament, so they have to get through the process, they have to show maturity,” said Ganguly. “…they all have the talent, they all have the skill to score runs and take wickets at this level. They just have to be mentally in a good place to win the World Cup.”
