Australian openers David Warner and Finch walked out to open the innings. Warner, who is going through a lean patch with the bat, got out for another low score. Ravichandran Ashwin trapped him LBW for 7-ball 1 before dismissing Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck.
Ravindran Jadeja, then, dismissed Aaron Finch with his first ball of the game. Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell had the job to do the damage control. They started off slowly and then Maxwell started hitting boundaries. He welcomed Rahul Chahar with a boundary on the first ball of the 12th over.
Virat Kohli then put some words in Chahar’s ears and suggested him strategy for Maxwell. Chahar didn’t disappoint his skipper and dismissed Maxwell after bowling three consecutive dot balls in the same over. Maxwell scored 37 runs in 28 balls where he hit five boundaries before getting out.
