Team India is facing criticism from every nook and corner after their dismal performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE, where they have lost their first two league matches against Pakistan and New Zealand.

Amidst the criticism and abuse, Indian National Congress’ head Rahul Gandhi has extended support to the Indian skipper Virat Kohli after numerous online trolls. Rahul Gandhi has shared a tweet on the micro-blogging site and has urged Virat Kohli to protect the team from such negative things.

“Dear Virat, these people are filled with hate because nobody gives them any love. Forgive them.  Protect the team,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

The tweet also came fairly soon after it was reported that the Delhi Commission for Women sent a notice to Delhi police asking them to take the action over Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s nine-month-old daughter getting rape threats online.

Earlier, Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami was facing the heat after Team India’s defeat against Pakistan. Shami was called anti-nationalist and was targeted for his religion. Rahul Gandhi was quick to extend his support to Shami as well after the online abuses.

He made a similar tweet back then and wrote, “Mohammad Shami we are all with you. These people are filled with hate because nobody gives them any love. Forgive them.”

After losing to Pakistan in the campaign opener of the T20 World Cup 2021, Team India put on yet another shambolic performance against New Zealand on Sunday, when their famed batting line-up couldn’t bat well against Kiwi bowlers. India managed to score just 110 runs in 20 overs. Indian bowlers were unable to defend this low total.
