The T20 World Cup 2021 is moving towards a conclusion and India has failed to reach the knockout stage of the tournament. Many selections were questionable in the camp as stated by many experts and some performed exceedingly well to seal their authority in the format. Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin did too well in the given format and especially in the last games of India while Rahul Chahar failed to make use of the opportunity.
It has to be noted that Chahar was roped in the playing XI to provide the best skills in the required conditions and give pace with his spin action. However, Yuzvendra Chahal was excluded by the squad who has been an immense success for India in the T20Is. However, Chahar failed to impress despite his recent performances.

Former Indian pacer, Ajit Agarkar stated that Chahar has certainly missed the bus this time while Jadeja stands to be the best all-round fielder in the world. During a chat with ESPNCricinfo, Agarkar stated, “Jadeja is a great addition to the team given the package that he provides, not only with bowling. If he can be the fifth bowler in the team, he can be challenging for batters.”
He further added, “From now on, India will try different options till the 2022 T20 WC as they might give some break to Jadeja now and them and will take services of Ashwin too. I think Ashwin was roped in because Washington Sundar was unfit and he has impressed all. Talking about Rahul Chahar, he did bowl well in UAE earlier but he missed the opportunity this time due to pressure or he took it lightly.”
