Rohit Sharma talks to India’s U19 team at the NCA

India’s white-ball captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match Test series against South Africa after he suffered a left hamstring injury during his training session in Mumbai recently. While he has started his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy on Friday, December 17, he also addressed India’s Under 19 team.

However, the Under 19 team is currently preparing at the NCA for the Asia Cup which is all set to begin in the UAE from December 23. Sharma, however, was seen taking out some time to talk to them as well. He is considered one of the best openers in recent times. Moreover, he has been appointed as the captain of the ODI team as well.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India took to their official Twitter account and shared this with pictures as well. They posted a few pictures where Rohit Sharma can be seen interacting with the emerging players at the NCA. “Priceless lessons 👍 👍📸 📸 #TeamIndia white-ball captain @ImRo45 made most of his rehab time as he addressed India’s U19 team during their preparatory camp at the NCA in Bengaluru,” the caption of the post read.

However, Priyank Panchal has been named as the replacement of Rohit Sharma for the upcoming South Africa tour. After receiving his maiden call-up to the Test team for the South Africa series, Priyank Panchal has said that he has been waiting for this opportunity for several years, and he is honoured to be donning the blue jersey.

Priyank Panchal has captained the India A team recently against the South Africa A team and scored 120 runs at an average of 40 from three innings with the top score of 96 as well. He has so far played 100 first-class matches and has 7011 runs in his name which came at an average of 45.52 and has got 24 centuries also. However, he will be in the race for the opening role along with Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul.
