Team India became the first Asian team to defeat South Africa in the Boxing Day Test at the Supersport in Centurion by 113 runs. The Indian bowlers, particularly the fast bowlers, played a huge role in this win as the four pacers shared 18 wickets among themselves. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers as he picked a 5-fer in the first innings and then got three more wickets in the second.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who was playing an overseas Test after the World Test Championship final, picked a couple of wickets in the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah picked a couple of wickets in the first innings followed by taking three more wickets in the second. KL Rahul played a brilliant knock of 123 runs in the first inning and he also won the Player of the Match award.

Legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the Indian team on this win through a tweet from his official account. He lauded the Indian bowlers and went on to say that they have the ability to take 20 wickets in any part of the world.
