Former Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews has been ruled out from the final T20 International match of the ongoing series against India. During the second game of the series, Mathews picked a hamstring injury, which forced him to leave the field and he couldn’t turn up for batting as well.
The incident belonged to an over, where he was delivering to deny Rohit Sharma a fastest ever T20I hundred, but failed to do so as Rohit peered him through the covers to achieve the record. In the follow-up delivery, Mathews pulled away from his run-up after crossing the umpire and he immediately started checking his hamstring on his thigh.
Sri Lankan physio came out to attend him but he failed to do any recovery thing as Mathews decided to leave the field. Afterwards, he didn’t even turn up for batting as Sri Lanka lost the second match by 88 runs to lose the series with one match yet to be played.
