Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera mentioned that Kuldeep Yadav‘s triple wicket over changed the momentum of their batting innings. At the end, the visitors fell short of India’s mammoth target by 88 runs.

Chasing 261, at one stage Lankan batsmen playing with their heart out to chase this mountain, but then ‘Chinaman happened’. After leaking 15 runs in his first three overs, Kuldeep came back in his final over to snare three wickets, including dangerous man Kusal Perera.

“They are bowling really well and generally the wrist-spinners with their variations are hard to pick. But this wicket offered very little for the bowlers and was excellent for batting and we could have done better,” said Perera.

“We tried to capitalize with fours and sixes. We didn’t want too many dot balls. We tried to hit out and ended up losing too many wickets. Kuldeep took three wickets in an over. The momentum went away from us at that moment and we never recovered,” the southpaw concluded.

Indian wrist spin duo reduced them from 145/1 to 172 all out, where six wickets came in just two overs. Kuldeep and Yuzavendra Chahal went out with figures of 3/52 and 4/52 respectively. Thus, India won the series with one match to go.
