The flamboyant Indian batter, Suryakumar Yadav, and of India’s integral member of the bowling unit in T20Is, Deepak Chahar, will be missing the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. According to the latest media reports, both these players have suffered injuries right on the brink of the inception of the T20I series and hence, they will be missing the entire series. However, it has been learned that the right-handed batter suffered a hairline fracture on his hand
Team India whitewashed West Indies in the recent ODI and T20I series. However, in the last match of the T20I series, Deepak Chahar pulled off his hamstring and couldn’t take it to the field after bowling for 1.5 overs in the match.

Regarding the injuries of Chahar and Suryakumar Yadav, Cricbuzz reports read, “Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the upcoming Twenty20 Internationals against Sri Lanka. He was spotted at India’s practice session in Lucknow on Tuesday but Cricbuzz understands that the 31-year-old batsman has suffered a hairline fracture on his hand and been declared unfit for the white-ball series.”
It further added, “It remains unclear as to where and when exactly Suryakumar got hurt but it’s understood that he sustained the injury while fielding in the third T20I against West Indies at the Eden on February 20.”

The first T20I against Sri Lanka will be played on February 24 with no fans in attendance while the last couple of games of the three-match series will be played in Dharamshala with a 50 percent in-house attendance.

Both the teams will then be moving to Mohali for the Test series wherein the first Test of the two-match series will be played followed by the final Test of the series being played in Bangalore which will also be a day-night Test match. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been rested for the T20I series while Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah has made his comeback in the Indian team for the T20I and Test series.
