The preparations have been commenced for the Indian Premier League 2018. Governing Council of IPL has announced the guidelines for the player retention before a mega-auction.
2016 winner Sunrisers Hyderabad is very serious towards this auction and they are likely to keep a hold on Captain David Warner, opener Shikhar Dhawan and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for further seasons of the league.
“Dhawan, Bhuvi and Warner have done a tremendous job for Hyderabad team and these were key players in 2016’s victory. Hence we have decided to retain these three from our 2017 squad,” said an SRH team source.
The troika of these three was the major reason behind Hyderabad’s title-winning campaign in 2016, where Warner led from the front to notch up 848 runs, only second to Virat Kohli’s 973. Bhuvi was the leading wicket-taker while Dhawan ended as the fourth leading run-getter.
