Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans have made their debut in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Both new teams are taking on each other for the first time this season at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While both teams are trying to leave the mark, it was pace-spearhead Mohammed Shami who stole the show with his stunning spell.
Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. And, Gujarat Titans’ bowler Mohammed Shami removed the key wicket of KL Rahul in the very first ball of the over. He bowled an unplayable delivery to Lucknow Super Giants captain and sent him in for a duck.

However, KL Rahul had no intention to hit the ball as he tried to defend it at the beginning but he got a massive edge off his bat and the ball went past behind the stumps as well. And, Matthew Wade did no mistake to grab the catch. While the umpire was not interested, the GT captain opted for a review. And, the TV replay showed that KL Rahul got an outside edge. With this, KL Rahul got out for a golden duck off Mohammed Shami as well.
How good was that first over from @MdShami11. Gets the big wicket of KL Rahul.

However, he provided the first breakthrough as Gujarat Titans got a massive wicket on the very first ball. Mohammed Shami then again claimed one more wicket to his name. He bowled a peach of a delivery to get the better of Quinton de Kock in the third ball of the third over as well. And, that left the team in trouble.
Mohammad Shami said before the game: “There isn’t much to talk about because everyone knows what we need to do in T20s. We have been playing continuously and have been in rhythm. It is a new season, a new franchise and hopefully a good result. Pandya is very different. He is getting responsible now. Earlier he used to be in his own mood, but now he is getting responsible and is talking to the players as well. Both teams are new and both of them would want to give more than 100%. But you need to prepare according to the wicket and the ground.”
