Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will be locking horns with each other for the first time in the tenth match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. GT is currently standing in the fourth position on the points table of this season of the IPL whereas Delhi Capitals is currently placed in second place on the points table.
GT played one match in this season of the IPL where they won that match while DC also played one game in this season where they, too, won it by a decent margin. Gujarat Titans played their last game against Lucknow Super Giants where they won the game by 5 wickets. Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatia played match-winning knocks of 33 runs and 40 runs respectively for Gujarat Titans in that game.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals played their last game against Mumbai Indians where they registered a close win by 4 wickets. Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel smacked 48 runs and 38 runs respectively for Delhi Capitals in that game. These two teams will play their first-ever head-to-head game in the history of the IPL so both will look to start with a win here. Ahead of the key clash at the MCA in Pune, we take a look at the three key player battles to watch out for.
#3 Mohammed Shami vs Prithvi Shaw
In his opening game of the season, Mohammed Shami was too hot to handle for LSG’s batting lineup. He looked in a great rhythm and would be oozing to continue the same form against DC. Prithvi Shaw, meanwhile, looked composed and played some cheeky shots against the MI bowlers. He hit a 24-ball 38 and looked bright during his stay on the crease. While Shami will look to hit the right areas consistently, Shaw is not someone who will back down from the contest.
#2 Hardik Pandya vs Kuldeep Yadav
Two players whose much-anticipated comebacks show good signs for Indian cricket, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav, will be hoping for redemption in IPL 2022. Where Yadav bagged the player of the match with his economical 3-fer, Hardik played some exquisite glances and was the second-highest run-scorerfor his side in the previous game. Kuldeep would love to bowl to someone like Hardik, who prefers to showcase his dominance against slower bowlers.
#1 Rishabh Pant vs Rashid Khan
Both Rishabh Pant and Rashid Khan have continued to command their authority in the IPL over the last few years. The duo has locked horns with each other nine times in the past in the IPL. While Rashid has twice been successful against the left-hander, Pant smashed 77 runs in 69 balls against the leg-spinner. The numbers suggest that Pant looks to play out Rashid. Both Pant and Rashid like to own the middle overs. Hence, it would be interesting to see who comes out on top on Saturday.
