Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni once again produced a batting masterclass to take is the team over the line against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 33rd match of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Sports Academy. The game went to the wire when the former CSK unleashed a carnage to outsmart the opponents.
Defending a below-par total of 156 runs, Rohit Sharma and his men had put on a brilliant fight to take the game deep into the 20th over. The Super Kings needed 17 runs off the final six and Jaydev Unadkat got a bright start to the over, trapping Dwaine Pretorius in the first ball.

However, veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo did the smart work by taking a single and giving the strike to MS Dhoni and the master did the rest in sublime style. He struck a six over the bowler’s head and followed it up with a boundary towards the fine-leg region.
The 40-year-old sneaked in a double to bring the equation to four runs needed of one ball and MS Dhoni did the unthinkable. Probably, only Dhoni could have taken the team over the line and he did it in some style. The former Indian skipper once again proved why he is the best finisher of the current generations.

Meanwhile, fans went gaga seeing MS Dhoni turning back the clock on a cricket field and steered Chennai Super Kings back to the winning ways. Incidentally, they have secured their second win of the season after seven outings in IPL 2022. With the loss, the chances of MI reaching the playoffs have gone down significantly as they have lost all the seven matches they have played so far in the tournament.
