On the other hand, India also has a new captain in the form of Rohit Sharma. Sharma was appointed as the captain in all the formats of the game after Virat Kohli stepped down from the position. India is currently placed at the top of the table of the ICC Men’s T20I rankings while England is placed at the second spot on the rankings.

India won all of their recent four T20I matches while England only managed to win a couple of game out of their recent five T20I games. These two teams have played 19 games with each other in the shortest format so far where India won ten matches while England managed to win nine games. The two all-rounders – Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone – in the England squad will allow Jos Buttler to play both Phil Salt and Harry Brook as an extra bowler. Sam Curran has been hitting the ball pretty well and could make his T20I return after more than a year out with a back injury. Lancashire’s Richard Gleeson is in line for a T20I debut. England have a number of first-choice bowlers unavailable and will chop and change the ones available for the three matches.

Probable XI: Jos Buttler (c&wk), Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Phil Salt, Harry Brook, Sam Curran/David Willey, Richard Gleeson, Chris Jordan/Reece Topley/Tymal Mills, Matthew Parkinson
