The Indian wicket-keeper batter, Dinesh Karthik, who plays the finisher’s role has hailed skipper Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel for their match-winning contributions against Australia in the 2nd T20I in Nagpur. An unbeaten knock of 46 by Rohit and two wickets from Axar helped India to register a six-wicket win against Australia. With the win, the series is now level at 1-1. Dinesh Kartik, who hit the winning boundary, said Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel were outstanding and welcomed Bumrah back into the team.
Talking to the commentators after the win, Dinesh Karthik said, “Rohit was trying to tell me what the bowler would do. I had my plans. As a middle-order batter, it is all about execution. It feels good to hit the winning runs. Rohit with the bat and Axar with the ball stood out. It is also good to see Bumrah back.”

Rohit Sharma gave India a crucial advantage by winning the toss and deciding to chase in a rain-affect T20I in Nagpur. Both the teams made a couple of changes as for the hosts Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant replaced Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, while the Aussies replaced Nathan Ellis and Josh Inglis with Daniel Sams with Sean Abbott respectively.
Meanwhile, Australia got in all-rounder Sean Abbott as a replacement for batter Josh Inglis. Aaron Finch gave Australia a great start as he smashed 31 runs in 15 balls. But Axar Patel got India back on track with two quick wickets. Mathew Wade continued his great run of form, smashing 43 runs in just 20 deliveries to help Australia amass 90 for 5 on the board in 8 overs.
