Former Indian spinner, Amit Mishra took a huge dig at England after their unexpected loss against Ireland in the super-12 stage of the T20 World Cup. England suffered a loss by 5 runs in a rain-affected game which was decided by the DLS method. Just as the result was declared, the English side faced a huge backlash from cricket fans around the world.
Amit Mishra has been one of the most active cricketers on Twitter these days as he constantly keeps posting his feedback on games. The former leggie didn’t miss a chance to pull England’s leg after they faced a terrible loss against Ireland that hurt their World Cup campaign.

In recent times, the English players and fans ha constantly been debated about the ‘Spirit of the game’ specifically after India’s Deepti Sharma had dismissed England’s Charlie Dean as she was found out of her crease on the non-striking end. ICC has recently changed the run-out rules as they’ve made it very clear that running out the batter on the non-striking end is legal and won’t be called ‘Mankading’.

Most of the cricketing pundits quoted that they won’t run out a batter in such a way as it’s against the ‘Spirit of the game’ which ended up in a debate that is still going on between English cricketers and the global cricketers who don’t think in the same way.
England was shocked by the Irish team’s heroic efforts in the game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Ireland posted a total of 157 runs due to some great batting by the skipper Andrew Balbirnie (62 off 47 balls) who got some support from Lorcan Tucker (34 off 27 balls) on a tricky Melbourne pitch.

In response to the Irish total, England was in some sort of trouble as their top order couldn’t contribute much. The rain arrived back in the 15th over when England was at a total of 105/5 and was five runs short of par score as per the DLS method. England eventually lost the game as the rain not stopped to allow them to chase the Irish total.
