India will be hosting Sri Lanka in the series decider of the three-match series in Rajkot after losing the 2nd T20I game in Pune. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Team India lost the game after Sri Lanka scored 206 runs in the first innings of the game, something that became a little too big a chase for the men in blue. Speaking after the game to the host broadcaster Star Sports, former Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir said that a player should not be judged after every match.

Elaborating the same, Gautam Gambhir said, “He has been good. You should not judge people after every game. Because India has lost the game, doesn’t mean that he has done anything wrong. He can’t control the bowlers by not bowling no-balls. It’s the responsibility of the bowler.”

Pandya chose to bowl first in the 2nd T20I, something that came as a big surprise since the Pune pitch has often been known for batting-friendly conditions in the first innings of the game. Gambhir however, that Pandya had captained the side very well in his short stint and should be lauded for his aggressive mindset.
