As such the clashes against Australia are generally considered to be one of the most much-awaited series, however, the magnitude of the upcoming Test series has reached to the different story considering that the two teams will be fighting out to cement a place in the 2021–2023 World Test Championship finals. While India is riding high on the back of a successful Test series win against Bangladesh in December, the Aussies are coming into the series after back-to-back series wins against England, West Indies, and South Africa.

The four-match Test series between India and Australia will prove to be vital as it will decide which side will qualify for the summit clash of the global ICC event. After the conclusion of the Tests, the two teams will also cross swords in a three-match scheduled to be commencing starting March 17.

As much as the Test series is key, the ODI series will also have equal importance considering the 2023 ODI World Cup on the horizon. KL Rahul will be serving as the deputy for the Rohit Sharma-led side for the series against Australia. Both Australia and India will get their fair chances to understand the squad dynamics in order to find their ‘fomidable XI’ just in time for the marquee event.
