Hashim Amla has impressed one and all with his batting in this edition of the Indian Premier League. Amla has already made a name out of himself in the international arena. His critics have always accused him of his modus operandi of batting, especially in the T20 format. However, he has answered them in the best possible manner every time.
Amla’s spectacular form has earned him the ‘Orange Cap’ in this season. With a help of a century and a couple of half-centuries, Amla has scored 299 runs in seven matches in this IPL so far. His average of 59.80 and strike rate of 145.85 itself speak for his efforts. The fact that his strike rate is better than David Warner, AB de Villiers and Nitish Rana in this IPL prove that it has not only been about the runs but also about the manner in which they are being scored.
Amla played another innings of stability today against Gujarat Lions. With the help of nine fours and two sixes, Amla scored 65 runs in 40 balls today. He was the key in Kings XI Punjab scoring 188-7 in 20 overs. Punjab would want his form to continue in his season to enhance their chances of qualifying for the play-offs.
