The Australian spinner, Ashton Agar is reported to be returning home to feature in the Sheffield Shield and Marsh Cup after a lack of playing time in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Agar is scheduled to join fellow stars like Josh Hazlewood, David Warner, Mithcell Swepson, and Pat Cummins on their way back home for various reasons.
Cricket Australia (CA) is yet to name a replacement for any of the injured players while Cameron Green is expected to feature in the playing XI for the Indore Test. While the rumors were hot regarding the departure of Agar from India, it was confirmed on Wednesday, February 22 that he will be returning to the Western Australia camp and feature in the domestic tournaments.

According to recent reports, Agar will play in the Sheffield Shield and Marsh Cup which are currently held in the tail-end of Australia summer. With the rise of Todd Murphy and Matthew Kuhnemann in the team Agar’s chances of featuring in the series were deemed surplus.

Along with Ashton Agar, Lance Morris will also be returning to Australia to ply his trade in the Sheffield Shield as they will probably not feature in the Indore and Ahmedabad contest.
As things stand, it is expected that Agar will board his flight to India in March for the ODI series which kickstarts on March 17. The first ODI of the series is scheduled to be played in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium and will likely see his inclusion in the team.

On the flip side, the Aussies are set to name West Australian opener Cameron Bancroft as David Warner’s replacement. The left-handed batter was ruled out of the series after sustaining a hairline fracture to his elbow. Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Swepson are also in Australia due to various reasons before the Indore Test starts on March 1.
