In the 9th match of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are locking horns with each other at the Eden Garden in Kolkata. RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bowl first and it seems to be proving true so far. RCB bowlers are bowling uphill, especially, the pacer, David Willey also bowled brilliantly.
Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaj opened for Kolkata and they batter carefully. But David Willey changed the game in just one over. Willie Iyer was clean bowled Iyer first, Mandeep Singh, who came out to bat, was also clean bowled on the very next ball and it left KKR reeling at 26/2.

At the end of 7 overs, KKR were 51/7 with Rahmatullah Gurbaj and Rinku Singh standing the crease. Captain Nitish Rana also got away cheaply on the first ball of Michael Bracewell.

Mandeep notched the unwanted record for most ducks in the history of IPL. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter has been dismissed 15 times on a duck, including his latest failure against RCB at the Eden Gardens. David Willey came into the XI for Reece Topley, who had earlier injured himself during the Bengaluru-based franchise’s inaugural IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians.
