Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar has said that his team was outplayed in all departments of the game. Notably, Kolkata Knight Riders beat RCB by 81 runs at the Eden Gardens to move up in the 2023 IPL league table. While speaking after the game, Bangar said that KKR took the game away from them and they were outplayed in all departments. KKR posted 204/7 in the first innings and bowled RCB out for 123 runs in 17.4 overs as well.

“We were outplayed in all departments of the game. They just took the game away from us and nothing clicked for us with the bat,” said Bangar.

He further added that RCB lost their way in the middle overs, while applauding KKR spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. Chakravarthy picked up 4 wickets, while Narine removed the in-form Virat Kohli and Shahbaz Ahmed as well.

“This is a good chasing ground. The pitch was a little bit two-paced but right towards the end, the batters were able to play their shots so its about keeping wickets in hand. And when you’re chasing a score of over 200, there is pressure. We started really well but Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine came in and applied pressure. During the middle overs, we lost our way,” Sanjay Bangar again shared.

While speaking about the introduction of impact players, the former India batter named it the future of cricket. However, after losing by a big margin against KKR, RCB will take on KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants, with the two sides set to play against each other at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 10.

“It is not necessary to use the impact player. But this gives new dimension to the game. It has become more dynamic and this is the future of cricket. The more the team uses the impact player more, the wiser they will become,” concluded Sanjay Bangar.
