Notably, Pandya is the second player after Faf du Plessis and Sanju Samson to receive the penalty for the over-rate offense in the 2023 edition. After having restricted the Punjab Kings to a small total, Pandya was caught off-guard as he did not expect to get involved in a close game. Interestingly enough, he indicated that the team will analyze the reason for the same during their team meeting.

Amidst all this, two players majorly showed their batting and bowling prowess in a game where GT continued their domination in their second season as well. Shubman Gill’s gritty half-century and Mohit Sharma’s comeback were the highlights of the clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Speaking of yesterday’s game, Gill scored his second fifty of the IPL 2023 season as he amassed 67 off 49 balls. During his stay at the crease, the Fajilika-born smashed seven fours and one six, respectively. It is worth mentioning that Gill completed his fifty with a glorious cover drive off Deepak Chahar. The opener got dismissed in the end by Sam Curran.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans will be locking horns with Rajasthan Royals for their next clash at their home at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 16, Friday.
