Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni caught up with former CSK teammate, Suresh Raina following their victory against five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. CSK registered a comfortable six-wicket win over MI to move up to second position on the IPL 2023 points table.
The two former teammates could be seen walking together and chatting away after CSK’s win. Raina represented CSK for 12 editions of the IPL after joining them in the inaugural 2008 season for INR 2.60 crore. He turned up in the famous Yellow jersey throughout his IPL career apart from the 2016 and 2017 seasons, when he represented the now-defunct Gujarat Lions.

Raina, who is often been termed as Mr. IPL, scored 4042 runs in 205 IPL matches, at an average of 32.52, while striking at 136.76. The left-handed batter hit 39 fifties and a solitary century in his IPL career, and was an integral part of all the four titles won by CSK.

CSK registered a historic victory by 6 wickets at the Chepauk Stadium against MI in the heavyweight clash. Batting first, MI managed to post just 139 for 8 on the scoreboard after an incredible CSK bowling performance. Middle-order batter Nehal Wadhera was the only shining light in their batting order, scoring his maiden IPL half-century to help the visitors post a respectable total on the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the CSK bowlers, as he scalped three wickets while giving away just 15 runs in four overs. In the second innings, Ruturaj Gaikwad came out all guns blazing during the chase and amassed 30 runs off 16 deliveries. Fellow opener Devon Conway chipped in with a 42-ball 44 to guide CSK to an important win in Chennai.
With this win, CSK move up to second place in the IPL 2023 points table, picking up 13 points from 11 matches. They will now face ninth-placed Delhi Capitals in Chennai on May 10.
