The 54th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MI is currently placed at the sixth place on the points table of this season of IPL whereas RCB is currently placed at the fifth spot on the points table. The hosts have played 10 games in IPL 2023 where they managed to win five games while RCB also played ten matches in this season where they too, won five games.
Mumbai Indians played their last game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where CSK pulled off a 6-wicket win. Nehal Wadhera managed to score 64 runs for Mumbai Indians in that game. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a 7-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals where Delhi Capitals (DC). Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror smacked 55 runs and 54 runs respectively for RCB in that game.

Jofra Archer was taken clobbered all over the park by RCB’s openers in the reverse fixture, but it remains a match-up, particularly against Faf du Plessis who he has dismissed twice in 22 balls. Glenn Maxwell has only single-digit scores in away games so far but the conditions at Wankhede could suit his style of play. Tilak Varma, one of the main contributors with the bat for MI, is expected to feature in the XI after having missed the last game vs CSK.

Kedar Jadhav, the late entrant to the Bengaluru squad, should retain his place in the XI.
