Rajasthan Royals (RR) witnessed one of the most demoralizing losses against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RC) at the home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 14. Chasing a target of 172 runs, the Sanju Samson-led side got bundled out for a meager score of 59 runs and eventually lost the match by a massive margin of 112 runs.

With that, their chances of qualifying for the IPL 2023 playoffs have reached a negligible level as the team will not only have to win their next match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) but will also have to better their net run rate and then, will have to keep a close eye on the result of their matches.

Meanwhile, talking about their extraordinary performance of the bowlers, former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, took a dig at RR as the 34-year-old was spotted saying that if he had bowled, the home team would have been all out for 40.

“If I had bowled, they would have been all out for 40,” Kohli was heard saying so, in a video shared by RCB. Notably, the Delhi-born cricketer rarely bowls these days and often makes fun of his bowling action.

Owing to their annihilation over Rajasthan Royals, the Faf du Plessis-led side improved their standing in the IPL points table and are cruising for another IPL playoffs. Currently, they are fifth on the points table and if they manage to win their remaining two games against Sunrisers Hyderabad (May 18) and Gujarat Titans (May 21), Bangalore will be qualifying for the playoffs.

When it comes to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), skipper du Plessis is leading by example as he has amassed 631 runs in 12 matches so far, and with that, he is currently at the top of the IPL Orange Cap race. Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell have been impressive as well while with the ball, Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell wreaked havoc in the last games and that will give them a lot of confidence at the business end of the tournament.
