Gujarat Titans (GT) suffered a huge blow when their star spinner Noor Ahmad was seen taken off the field due to an ankle injury during the IPL clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The young spinner from Afghanistan coped with a painful blow on his ankle while bowling to Heinrich Klaasen during the 16th overs of SRH’s innings.
The blow was so painful that the left-arm spinner could not even finish his over as he was taken off the field. Allrounder Rahul Tewatia had to finish the over. The incident took place on the 5th ball of the 16th over.

Noor Ahmad bowled a short ball outside the off stump to a well-set Klaasen. The ball was there to be hit and Klaasen had no intention of taking it easy. The South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman slapped the ball really hard, leaving Noor Ahmad absolutely no time to react.
The spinner just failed to pull his leg out of the ball’s way as the ball hit him on his ankle in the right leg. He fell on the ground immediately and looked in some serious pain before the physio came out to check on him.

Gujarat Titans would be hoping that the injury is nothing serious and the spinner recovers in time for the final phase of IPL 2023. The reigning champions are looking set to win the ongoing clash against SRH and seal their playoff spot. SRH were on 136 for 8 after 18 overs while chasing 189. A win today will not only seal a playoff spot but also a top-two finish for Gujarat.
