On Day 2 of the World Test Championship final, India struggled to find their rhythm against Travis Head and Steve Smith. The Indian pace-bowling duo of Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj looked out of options as Head and Smith continued to frustrate the bowling attack. The opening hour of the day provided an opportunity for India to strike, but they failed to make an impact.
In an unfortunate start to the day, Siraj bowled back-to-back half-volleys, allowing Smith to effortlessly hit consecutive boundaries and complete his 31st Test century. Sunil Gavaskar expressed his disappointment at the lackluster start, questioning the team’s performance.
