Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are the reason behind India’s immense success in the ongoing six-match One-Day International series against South Africa. Both spinners bowled beautifully in first two matches and helped India to gain a 2-0 lead in the series.

Seeing such a performance, ODI’s out of favor Ravichandran Ashwin praised this duo and labeled ‘adaptability’ behind their success.“I think there is a bit of novelty factor there. It is not about wrist finger or finger spin. It is about the ability to adapt,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ashwin commented on spinners’ successful role in the T20s, who were written off when this format came into existence.

Ashwin has been axed from India’s limited-over squad after ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England but plays Test cricket regularly. However, he is not worried about his place in ODI format and mentioned that he is strengthening his variety arsenal.

“As I told you I can only do my part. I don’t think I am at that phase of my career that I am not going to fret much and look forward to something,” he stated during Tamil Nadu’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match.

Amidst, he is optimistic about his comeback in the limited-over side and feels if good enough, he will definitely make a comeback. He is sharpening his leg-break skills in the nets for upcoming Indian Premier League, where he will be playing for Kings XI Punjab as Chennai Super Kings decided not to retain him.
