In a remarkable display of skill, former England captain Joe Root showcased his brilliance on Day 4 of the second Test at Lord’s with a stunning reflex catch. The 32-year-old exhibited his athleticism by taking a one-handed stunner to dismiss the dangerous Travis Head off the bowling of Stuart Broad. The dismissal took place in the 68th over of the innings when Broad delivered a short-pitched ball aimed at Head’s hip.
Head, who had been wreaking havoc on England’s bowling attack in the first innings with a brisk 77-run knock in partnership with Steve Smith, fended at the delivery, resulting in the ball popping up towards short leg. With lightning-fast reflexes, Root stuck out his left hand and managed to complete the catch.
