After the final ODI, Kishan had the opportunity to interact with the legendary Brian Lara. The 25-year-old expressed his admiration for the former West Indies skipper, recalling the stories he had heard about Lara’s dedication to the game. Kishan was pleasantly surprised when Lara messaged him on Instagram, considering him a cricketing legend.

“I think for me, the most important things are the stories I’ve heard. I have heard that you always used to bat till lunch and if you are there on the pitch, you go to practice and then again come to bat. So that is something to learn from you. And I was very excited to… you know, once you texted me on Instagram, and I was actually in shock, like how come you texted me. Such a legend of this game texted me, and I was very happy about it,” Ishan Kishan told Brian Lara.

Performing at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, named after the cricketing legend himself, held special significance for Kishan. He expressed his joy in being able to showcase his talent in a stadium bearing Lara’s name, as he is an ardent fan of Lara’s style of play and has watched his innings with great admiration.

“Performing here where your name is there on the board was really special for me. And, you know, I love to watch highlights, and I’ve seen your innings, how you used to play and hit those shots. So I’m actually happy to perform here,” he added.

In the third ODI, Ishan Kishan played a crucial role in India’s mammoth total of 351 runs, scoring a brilliant 77. The Indian bowlers once again displayed their prowess, with Shardul Thakur taking four wickets and Mukesh Kumar picking up three. Thanks to their remarkable performance, the team led by Hardik Pandya secured a resounding victory, defeating West Indies by a massive 200 runs.
