While Charles managed to sidestep a potential injury, the situation also saw him narrowly escaping the unusual possibility of being dismissed in a hit-wicket fashion, whereby his own helmet could have struck the stumps. This incident took place in the twelfth over of the match, with Dwayne Bravo delivering a full toss that prompted Charles to attempt an unconventional shot over the wicketkeeper.
Following a swift medical assessment, Johnson Charles was given the green light to continue his innings.
