Star India batter Virat Kohli has issued a directive, asking all his friends not to ask for tickets for the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is slated to begin on October 5. Kohli took to Instagram and asked his friends not to ask for tickets this time around. He even suggested them to enjoy the game from their home in case they failed to get their hands on the tickets.

“As we approach the World Cup, I would humbly like to let all my friends know to not request me for tickets at all throughout the tournament. Enjoy from your homes pls,” Kohli wrote on his Instagram story.

Meanwhile, his wife and famous Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma shared the same story on her profile and added not to request her for tickets if Kohli ends up not answering.

“And let me just add… please don’t request me to help if your messages get unanswered. Thank you for your understanding,” Anushka added.

Meanwhile, Kohli is slated to rejoin the Indian camp on October 4. He traveled back home in between India’s practice games due to personal reasons and wasn’t available for the game against the Netherlands. However, he will be part of the team when the Rohit Sharma-led side travel to Chennai for their opening game of the season against Australia on October 8.

Ahead of that, both the practice matches of India were called off due to rain. Hence, they currently lack game time but should be confident of their chances as the team recently defeated Australia 2-1 in a three-match series. Meanwhile, after Australia, the team will travel to Delhi to take on Afghanistan on October 11 and will host Pakistan on October 14 in Ahmedabad.

Kohli’s request to his friends not to ask for World Cup tickets is understandable, given the high demand for tickets to the tournament. It is also a reminder to cricket fans that it is important to be respectful of players’ privacy, especially during major tournaments.
