Pakistan captain Babar Azam said that the Pakistan team has thoroughly enjoyed the great hospitality they received in India for the World Cup 2023. He talked about the same on the Captains’ Day in Ahmedabad as well. However, last month, Pakistan reached Hyderabad amidst tight security and many fans were seen cheering for their favourite cricketers and Babar was in awe of the hospitality, saying it felt “like we are at home”.

“We received good hospitality, and we were not expecting this, but I think the way people responded to us, everyone enjoyed it. We are here for a week in Hyderabad, so we do not feel like we are in India; it was like we are at home. We enjoyed and had a lot of fun. It’s good, and I think it’s a golden opportunity for everyone to give 100% and enjoy the tournament,” Babar Azam was quoted as saying.

However, Pakistan have played two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia, but they lost both times. Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has said that it is time for them to show what they are capable of. Meanwhile, Bangladesh are set to play against Hashmatullah Shahidi’s Afghanistan in the opening match on Friday, October 6 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala as well.

“I think we have prepared well. If we talk about the last four years since the 2019 World Cup, we are probably the third or fourth team in the qualifiers’ point system. So, we have done really well as a group; now it’s time for us to put on a good show. Our team is ready, and the country is expecting a little more than what we did previously,” he shared.
