India captain Rohit Sharma lost his cool after his team conceded two extra runs following two direct hit overthrows against Bangladesh in the 31st over of the match at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Thursday. The incident occurred when veteran wicket-keeping batter Mushfiqur Rahim hit Shardul Thakur at backward point to take a quick single.

Ravindra Jadeja saw an opportunity and went for the direct hit at the non-striker’s end, but Towhid Hridoy was comfortably in and ran for the second after the ball ricocheted off the stumps. To make matters worse, KL Rahul picked the ball up and had a go at the non-striker’s end, finding the stumps which led to Bangladesh stealing another single.

This whole fiasco left Rohit fuming as India gave away two unnecessary runs to Bangladesh in a crucial stage of the game. The Indian captain was seen expressing his displeasure to Jadeja and Rahul on the field. He was also caught on camera saying, “Isko kya ho raha hai? (What’s happening to him?)”.

The incident highlights the importance of fielding in cricket, especially in crucial matches like World Cup games. Every run counts, and two extra runs can make a big difference in the outcome of a match. Fortunately for India, they have managed to take wickets in the game so far, but they will need to be more careful in the field in the tournament like World Cup.
