India and Bangladesh clashed in the 17th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 tournament on October 19, 2023, at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first. Openers Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das (66) added 93 runs for the first wicket to give their team a good start. But then Bangladesh lost a few wickets, including both the openers, Najmul Shanto (8), and Mehidy Hasan (3).
Mushfiqur Rahim made 38 but got out thanks to a brilliant catch by Jadeja at backward point. But Nasum Ahmed (14) and Mahmudullah (46 with 3 fours and 3 sixes) powered Bangladesh to a final total of 256/8 in 50 overs. For India, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each.
One of Bumrah’s wickets was Mahmudullah, who got out to a searing yorker in the last over. The veteran Bangladeshi batter was readying to launch the ball for a six, but Bumrah bowled the perfect yorker, with the ball hitting the base of the middle stump and sending Mahmudullah back.

India’s bowlers did a good job of restricting Bangladesh to a manageable total, and they will now be looking to chase down the target and win their fourth consecutive match of the tournament.
