Veteran Australian opener David Warner brought out the ‘Pushpa’ celebration after hitting a spectacular century against Pakistan in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Friday, October 20. Warner showcased a batting masterclass in Bangalore, playing an attacking brand of cricket on a surface that assisted the batters. He looked good initially in his innings, but he wouldn’t have completed his century if he wasn’t dropped early on.
Usama Mir dropped Warner in the 5th over when he was batting on 10. After getting a reprieve, Warner looked even more dominant and started annihilating the Pakistani bowlers. He took just 39 balls to complete his half-century, hitting 3 sixes and 5 fours.

Opposition skipper Babar Azam tried all his bowlers to break the partnership between Warner and Marsh, but no one was successful. Warner completed his century off 85 balls, taking a single off Mohammad Nawaz’s delivery in the 31st over. After hitting the ton, he performed his trademark celebration, jumping and punching the air in delight, followed by the Allu Arjun “Jhukegaa nahi saala” celebration from the movie “Pushpa”.
