The Rohit Sharma-led Team India defeated New Zealand for the first time in 20 years in an ICC event and decided to stay back in Dharamsala for a few days before heading to Lucknow for their next game against defending champions England. During their off day, the support staff went on a challenging-yet-adventurous Triund trek.
The BCCI shared a video of the trek on social media, and it has been loved by fans. The caption of the video read, “A day off for the squad is a day well spent in the hills for the support staff. Dharamsala done. Taking some positive vibes to Lucknow next.”
In the video, head coach Rahul Dravid said, “Superb view coming up to Triund. Just getting here, you are going up the mountain, climbing. It’s a challenging trek, I must admit it. But once you come here, the views are breathtaking, spectacular. It’s incredible for the support staff to be able to come here. Just a great day out as well.”

Dravid further stated that it was risky to bring the players to the trek, but he will definitely do it someday when they are free and not playing.
Batting coach Vikram Rathour shared his experience of the trek and said, “We are at Triund. Started from a place called Galu. It’s Beyond McLeod Ganj. When you are climbing up, the last half-an-hour trek is a little hard, but the moment it opens up, everything is worth it.”

India is the only side to travel across all venues in the World Cup 2023. They defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in Dharamsala and will fly to Lucknow to take on defending champions England.
The Indian support staff’s Triund trek is a great example of how they are trying to build a strong team culture. By spending time together and enjoying each other’s company, they are creating a positive and supportive environment for the players. This is essential for success in any team sport, but especially in a high-pressure tournament like the Cricket World Cup.
