Brendon McCullum Applauds Rohit’s Bold Captaincy and Virat’s Superstar Performance

Rohit Sharma’s bold and aggressive leadership during the World Cup drew praise from former New Zealand cricketer and England Test team head coach, Brendon McCullum. McCullum commended Rohit’s tactics, emphasizing the captain’s willingness to take risks and play an attacking style of cricket.

Brendon McCullum acknowledged that when combined with India’s immense talent pool, Rohit’s captaincy could achieve remarkable success. He also noted Rohit’s successful leadership with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL over the years.

“Yeah. I like his captaincy (Rohit Sharma’s captaincy). I think his captaincy is bold. He takes risks, and he takes the game on. And when you add the talent base of India to these kinds of tactics, then he can achieve very good things. He has been a great leader for not just India but for Mumbai Indians over the years as well,” expressed Brendon McCullum in comments to the Hindustan Times.

Additionally, McCullum extended praise to Virat Kohli, whom he knows well from their time together in the Indian Premier League (IPL). McCullum remarked that Kohli, often considered a future superstar, has lived up to those expectations.

Acknowledging Kohli’s ability to handle the immense pressure and expectations of a billion people, McCullum concluded that the Indian captain deserves every accolade he receives.
