India’s veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh commended Shivam Dube for his outstanding all-round display in the first T20I against Afghanistan, hailing his improved bowling pace and overall fitness. Dube, who earned the Player of the Match award, contributed significantly with an unbeaten 60 runs and a wicket for just 9 runs in his two overs.
Harbhajan suggested that Dube, with his enhanced skills, could become India’s long-term pace-bowling all-rounder, especially if he continues to perform well in the upcoming matches. The 30-year-old all-rounder seized the opportunity in the absence of Hardik Pandya and played a crucial role in India’s 6-wicket victory over Afghanistan.

In the latest video on his Youtube channel, Harbhajan Singh said, “One major change that I saw in Shivam Dube was his bowling pace. He has added a bit of it to his bowling now. His pace has definitely improved, and he has clearly worked on his fitness. He could be the long-term pace bowling all-rounder that India are looking for. If Shivam Dube scores runs in the remaining matches as well, it will be difficult to ignore him.”
With an eye on the upcoming T20 World Cup, Indian players aim to capitalize on the limited opportunities, and Dube’s impressive performance could make him a valuable asset for the team. Harbhajan emphasized the significance of Dube’s contribution, noting that if he continues to score runs in the remaining matches, it would be challenging to overlook his capabilities.
