Veteran Sri Lanka batter Angelo Mathews has once again got out bizarrely. He was out ‘hit-wicket’ in a bizarre manner on Day 2 of Sri Lanka’s one-off Test against a visiting Afghanistan side in Colombo as well. His out sparked memories of his timed-out dismissal at the ODI World Cup last year in India as well.
However, Angelo Mathews stepped up with the bat, playing an impressive knock of 141 runs. He anchored the Sri Lankan batting lineup in challenging conditions at the P. Sara Oval where he brilliantly navigated the Afghan bowling attack, showcasing his strength in strokes and solid defence as well.

However, his innings came to an end in a way that left fans in disbelief. After a stunning effort at the crease, in the final delivery of the day’s play, Angelo Mathews tried to play a sweep shot to a delivery from Qais Ahmed that was bowled way down the leg. He tried to go for a boundary but his bat ended up hitting the stumps as well and he got out after having played a decent knock as well.
