In a surprising development, the Cricket Bat Manufacturers Association of Kashmir (CBMAK) has initiated legal action against Sony Pictures Networks and Tramboo Sports Pvt. Ltd., the creators of ‘Shark Tank India.’ The legal move comes in response to an episode aired on January 30, 2024, which has ignited controversy within the cricket bat manufacturing sector.
CBMAK, representing all cricket bat manufacturers in the Kashmir valley, strongly refutes the portrayal by Tramboo Sports as the exclusive producer of Kashmir willow cricket bats. The Association argues that the statements made on the show have not only misled the public but have also caused significant harm to the businesses of its members.
Expressing deep concern, CBMAK underscores that these misrepresentations have dealt a severe blow to their bat sales and have cast a shadow on the reputation of the entire indigenous Kashmiri bat-making industry.

The Association highlights the superior quality of bats produced by its members and claims endorsements from various star cricketers who prefer and promote their products. CBMAK is particularly disturbed by Tramboo Sports’ alleged claims during the January 30 episode, presenting itself as the sole manufacturer of Kashmir willow bats.
Typical Kashmiri Jealousy 😂
Instead of taking advantage of the claim pitched on Shark Tank, that Kashmir willow bat 🟰 to English willow bats, few bat manufacturers are hell bent to defame the boys.

In response to these accusations, CBMAK has taken a legal stance by issuing a detailed notice demanding a public apology within 15 days from both Sony Pictures Networks and Tramboo Sports. Additionally, the Association is seeking compensation of one hundred crores for the damages, losses, and mental agony endured.

Tramboo Sports Pvt. Ltd. has responded, clarifying that the televised pitch on “Shark Tank India” was a brief excerpt from a more extended presentation, leading to misunderstandings. The company emphasizes its commitment to fostering business development and contributing to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As the legal battle unfolds, the cricket bat manufacturing industry watches closely, anticipating the resolution of this unexpected clash between CBMAK and the producers of ‘Shark Tank India.’
