On Day 3 of the third Test between India and England in Rajkot, Mohammed Siraj emerged as a pivotal figure for the Indian bowling attack. With the absence of Ravichandran Ashwin, who left the match midway due to his mother’s illness, the quartet of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja had the responsibility of making an impact after England had a strong finish on Day 2.

Unfortunately, Ashwin was not around to witness this as he had appealed to the on-field umpire, not realizing that he had bowled the batter. Rehan could only contribute nine runs before being cleaned up by a brilliant yorker from Siraj.

Rehan had been a valuable contributor with the bat in the series, scoring 70 runs in four innings before the third Test. His promotion to No. 3 in the second Test showcased the team’s reliance on him. However, in the ongoing match, he fell victim to Siraj’s impeccable bowling technique.

The third day witnessed an unexpected collapse for England, losing their last eight wickets for just 95 runs. Despite Ben Duckett’s century, the middle order couldn’t capitalize on the foundation laid.
