Responding swiftly, Jaiswal crafted a humorous comeback, saying, “Mereko bhi darr lagta hai,” implying, “I’m also scared [of him].” Rohit Sharma, known for his calm demeanour off the field, exhibits intense focus and determination when playing. On Day 1 of the fourth Test, Rohit Sharma lost the toss, allowing England to bat first. Debutant Akash Deep made an immediate impact, dismantling England’s top-order with his impressive bowling display. India’s spinners further compounded England’s woes, reducing them to 112/5 by lunch.

However, Root and wicketkeeper Ben Foakes orchestrated a remarkable recovery, forging a vital 113-run partnership. Despite Foakes departing for 47, Root continued to dominate, eventually reaching his 31st Test century. Notably, it marked his 10th century against India, the most by any player against the Asian giants.
