Yashasvi Jaiswal, the emerging cricket talent, was honoured with the ICC’s Player of the Month for February, following his exceptional performance in the Test series against England. Jaiswal, participating in his first home red-ball series, showcased his prowess by amassing a staggering 712 runs, featuring two double-hundreds and three fifties.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remarkable contributions played a pivotal role in India’s dominant 4-1 series victory, marking a significant setback for England under captain Ben Stokes. Expressing his joy over the ICC award, Jaiswal remarked, “I’m happy to achieve the ICC award, and I hope I will be getting more in the future.”

Reflecting on the recently concluded series, the 22-year-old highlighted the celebration of his double century in Rajkot as a memorable moment. “I think when I celebrated my double century in Rajkot, that was something I enjoyed and felt. And I was living,” said Jaiswal.

Notably, his double century in Rajkot earned him the distinction of becoming the third youngest batter in cricket history, achieving two double centuries in Test cricket, following the legendary Sir Donald Bradman and former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli. Jaiswal concluded the month with outstanding Test statistics, amassing 560 runs at an impressive average of 112, including an impressive tally of 20 sixes.

In addition, Jaiswal became the second-fastest Indian to reach the milestone of 1000 Test runs during the series. His exceptional performance edged out competition from seasoned campaigners like Kane Williamson of New Zealand and Sri Lanka’s opener Pathum Nissanka to secure the ICC Player of the Month accolade.
With the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), Jaiswal is set to transition his focus to the T20 format, aiming to carry his prolific form into the tournament and secure a spot for the T20 World Cup in 2024.
