Royal Challengers Bangalore scripted history by clinching their maiden title win in a thrilling encounter against Delhi Capitals. The jubilant scenes erupted as Richa Ghosh struck the winning shot, sending the RCB players into a frenzy of celebration. Ellyse Perry, who stood on the other end of the crease, was engulfed in embraces as the team rejoiced.
Adding to the festivities, star India batter Virat Kohli joined in the revelry through a video call after the win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In the heartwarming video, Virat Kohli’s elation was palpable as he danced with joy, sharing the ecstatic moment with the victorious RCB squad.
Having been associated with the franchise since its inception in 2008, Kohli expressed his overwhelming happiness at the women’s team’s historic achievement, securing RCB’s maiden IPL title. Delhi Capitals, batting first, started strongly with Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning providing a solid foundation with a 64-run partnership.

Despite the modest target, Delhi Capitals kept the pressure on Royal Challengers Bangalore throughout the chase, making for a tense encounter. RCB faced some precarious moments during the chase, but Ellyse Perry and Smriti Mandhana’s composed batting ensured stability.

The defeat left DC skipper Meg Lanning visibly emotional, having led her team to the finals for the second consecutive year without clinching the title. Despite her stellar leadership, Lanning couldn’t propel Delhi Capitals over the finish line, leaving her distraught after the loss.
