In the ad, as Rahul attempted to join the duo, Rohit amusingly declared it a “family dinner” between him and Shetty, momentarily leaving Rahul flustered. Shetty then added to the banter by quipping that until the IPL concludes, “Sharmaji ka beta, mera beta” (Mr. Sharma’s son is like my son), much to everyone’s delight.

Responding to the ad on social media, Rohit playfully announced the end of family time for Rahul and the beginning of rivalry, asserting Mumbai’s claim over Shetty, who is associated with the Mumbai franchise. “Family time over @klrahul, ab rivalry time shuru ho gaya hai! @SunielVShetty ab hue humare. (Family time over KL Rahul, now time to start the rivalry. Suniel Shetty belongs to us.),” said Rohit.

As the IPL approaches, both KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma are gearing up for new roles. Rahul is expected to take on a middle-order position for the Lucknow franchise, with an eye on the T20 World Cup, while Devdutt Padikkal is anticipated to open alongside Quinton de Kock. Meanwhile, Rohit has been relieved of captaincy duties for Mumbai, with Hardik Pandya stepping into the leadership role.

Excitement mounts as the Mumbai Indians prepare to kick off their campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 24, coinciding with Lucknow Super Giants’ clash against Rajasthan Royals on the same day. Meanwhile, the season will commence on March 22 with the high-voltage CSK and RCB clash in Chennai.
