“While I haven’t had the chance to play directly under MS Dhoni (Mahi Bhai),” Shubman Gill said, “watching him as a kid was a huge inspiration for me on the field.”

Shubman Gill went on to share that he’s spent a significant portion of his career playing under current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

“I’ve also played under Virat Kohli, but the majority of my cricket has been under Rohit Bhai,” he explained, “and there are so many qualities I’ll be personally trying to learn from him.”

The Titans boast an impressive home record against the Mumbai Indians, and Gill hopes to extend that dominance. “It’s always exciting to face Mumbai Indians, such a successful team with five titles,” he acknowledged. “But here in Ahmedabad, we’ve never lost to them. Hopefully, we can keep that streak going!”

With Hardik Pandya now leading the Mumbai Indians, Shubman Gill sees an interesting dynamic at play. “It’s going to be thrilling,” he said. “Hardik Bhai is someone I’ve played under at both the national level and with the Titans.
