Gujarat Titans speedster Mohit Sharma said that Shivam Dube’s improvement as a batter while playing for the Chennai Super Kings will be good news for Indian cricket. However, Dube played a stunning knock for CSK on March 26 as they secured a big win over GT as well. Dube scored 51 off just 23 balls as CSK won the match by a huge margin of 63 runs to go to the top of the table as well. Notably, he played heroics in back-to-back games as he did well against RCB as well.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Mohit Sharma said that Dube deserves a lot of applause for the way he has improved himself in the past few seasons as well. He also revealed that the chat he had with Dube and said that the CSK batter seemed to be pretty clear in his mind about what he has to do.

“How Shivam Dube has improved himself over the past few seasons deserves a lot of praise. If we look at it from a broader spectrum, this is good for Indian cricket. Because there are big tournaments coming up. It is a good thing for CSK,” said Mohit Sharma. “When you make a package for a batter, you tend to be a step ahead of the batter. For a player like Dube, it is like he is aware probably that a yorker is going to come in next, a slower bouncer is going to come in.”
“When we were chatting in the ground, I told him it would be difficult to hit to the longer part of the ground with my variations. But he was pretty clear as to how what he wanted to do and what to avoid. And for me, for a longer period, you need to have that mindset. The way that he has batted so far and how he is going at the moment, he has a bright future ahead, for whichever team he is going to represent,” concluded Mohit Sharma.
